Nurturing a More Inclusive Open Science Community

ORCA engages in a range of projects designed to ensure that researchers worldwide can participate in, and benefit from, the global scientific conversation. One example is the Advancing Biomedical Research & Education in Latin America (abreLA). The program utilizes open hardware and software tools, as well as open educational resources, to foster hands-on learning and introduce the next generation of biomedical researchers to a culture of sharing. By promoting the use of accessible technologies like electrophysiology recording devices and open-source data analysis software, the project aims to expand participation in biomedical education and research, particularly for institutions with limited resources.
